Greed, jealousy, revenge, obsession – the motives of America’s gas-lit murders are universal and timeless. Yet their stories are tightly bound to a particular place and time; uniquely American, uniquely 19th Century.

On this cool Salem walking tour they had some alternate views on the Joseph White murder in 1830. Many of the findings could be found in Robert Booth's Death of an Empire and Salem Secret Underground:The History of the Tunnels in the City. In the later book they mention the murderer probably used the tunnel leading into the house instead of the window. Also it brings up the connection of the Parker Brothers to the case. Their uncle was the original judge on the case and their store was kitty corner to the home. These things it says inspired them to design Clues board to resemble the house the murder took place in. Plus to have a character named Mrs White.
